Information Security & Testing Engineer

Role Overview Haryana Knowledge Corporation is seeking skilled Information Security and Testing Engineers to strengthen its cybersecurity posture and protect critical digital infrastructure. This is a full-time contractual opportunity based in Chandigarh, ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and information security audits who are passionate about safeguarding e-governance systems and citizen data. Key Responsibilities The selected candidate will be responsible for continuously monitoring and updating the organisation's threat landscape to stay ahead of emerging cyber risks. You will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining a robust cybersecurity program alongside a business continuity framework. Responsibilities include conducting thorough reviews of information security and cybersecurity policies, ensuring they remain current and compliant with regulatory standards. You will support the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in coordinating with regulatory bodies, external agencies, and stakeholders to uphold information security standards. Additional duties include performing log reviews and analysis, web application security assessments, SDLC audits, periodic code reviews, configuration management, change management, incident management, and network security evaluations. Required Qualifications Candidates must hold a recognised degree in Engineering or Computer Science with a strong academic record. Preference is given to those with additional certifications, MBA qualifications, or international experience in information security. A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in the information security domain is mandatory. Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, IT, or a related field from a recognised institution with minimum 60% marks, OR Master's degree (M.Tech/M.E.) in E&C, IT, or Computer Science with minimum 60% marks, OR Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Minimum 1 year of professional experience in Information Security domain Hands-on experience with Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) Proficiency in Web Application Security Assessment Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) audits and periodic code reviews Experience with Information Security Audits and secure software development practices Knowledge of Configuration Management, Change Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management Understanding of network security principles and security in information storage and retrieval systems Working knowledge of citizen and customer data privacy regulations Strong understanding of current cyber threat landscapes Preference given to candidates with an MBA from a recognised university Preference given to candidates with experience in security implementation for e-Governance applications Preference given to holders of recognised Information Security certifications (e.g. CEH, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) Preference given to candidates with international working experience in cybersecurity Meritorious candidates with distinction in their primary qualification will be given preference
