FinOps SME - Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer

Role Overview Tech Mahindra is hiring an experienced FinOps Subject Matter Expert to serve as the single point of contact for cloud cost tracking and optimization across multiple projects within a global customer landscape. This is a high-visibility role that requires strong coordination, stakeholder management, and deep expertise in cloud financial operations. The ideal candidate will drive cost efficiency initiatives while keeping senior leadership informed at every stage. Key Responsibilities - Track and manage cloud cost optimization projects across multiple global and local initiatives - Set up and lead weekly cadence meetings with project managers, technical teams, and senior stakeholders to manage expectations and drive progress - Proactively identify and chase open action items and pending activities across dependent teams - Prepare and present status updates to senior management with clarity and accuracy - Perform invoice repricing based on project-specific consumption patterns - Coordinate migration activities from on-premise to cloud, addressing instance selection and network design during the architecture phase - Monitor budget alerts and detect anomalies to notify customers and project owners of any pricing changes - Collaborate with business and engineering teams to resolve dependencies and close open activities Required Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of experience in Cloud FinOps Management and/or Project Management - Strong hands-on expertise with cloud cost optimization tools such as Cloud Checker, Cloud Health, and CoreStack - Working knowledge of cloud platforms including GCP, Azure, and AWS - Excellent dependency tracking and stakeholder follow-up skills - Strong communication and presentation abilities - Experience with budget management, anomaly detection, and cost analytics - FinOps certification or equivalent background is preferred - Any graduate degree is acceptable Why Join Us Tech Mahindra is a globally recognized IT services leader offering professionals the opportunity to work on large-scale cloud transformation programs across diverse industries. - 5+ years of experience in Cloud FinOps Management or Project Management - Expertise in cloud cost optimization tools: Cloud Checker, Cloud Health, CoreStack - Knowledge of GCP, Azure, and AWS cloud infrastructure - Experience with invoice repricing and consumption-based cost analysis - Budget alert setup and anomaly detection capabilities - Strong stakeholder management and dependency tracking skills - Excellent communication and presentation skills - Experience in on-premise to cloud migration activities - FinOps certification preferred - Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
