Clinical Analyst - Healthcare Data and Coding

Role Overview Model Business Services is hiring a Clinical Analyst with a strong background in healthcare data, medical coding, and clinical terminology. This role sits within the revenue management and data integration team, where you will be responsible for translating complex medical billing information and hospital chargemaster items into standardized Industry Standard Codes. Full training will be provided on all internal mapping tools, systems, and UK private medical insurance frameworks, so prior knowledge of BUPA, AXA, or CCSD coding is not required. Key Responsibilities - Analyze incoming medical line items and classify them into one of four core categories: Prosthesis, Consumable, Drug, or Service - Apply structured mapping rules based on item category, matching prosthetics and consumables by generic clinical description and drugs by generic name, formulation, and exact strength - Review hospital and clinic data outputs to resolve ambiguity between brand names and generic descriptors, ensuring accurate and consistent data alignment - Maintain high data quality and integrity across large datasets by identifying and correcting classification errors - Collaborate with the data operations team to refine mapping logic, update reference files, and maintain system master data Required Qualifications - Degree in a healthcare-related field such as B.Pharma, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Biomedical Science, or a postgraduate degree in life sciences - Strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical procedures - High logical and analytical ability to follow multi-step conditional logic workflows with accuracy and consistency - Proficiency in working with large datasets, spreadsheets including Excel and CSV formats, and data mapping tools - Excellent attention to detail with strong pattern recognition skills relevant to drug strengths, clinical descriptors, and technical parameters - Prior experience in medical records, health insurance claims processing, or clinical trial data management is an advantage Why Join Us This is an excellent opportunity to build a career at the intersection of healthcare and data analytics within a structured, logic-driven environment that values technical precision.
