AR Caller - Collections Representative (Hospital Billing)

Role Overview Optum is seeking experienced AR Caller - Collections Representatives with a strong background in Hospital Billing to join its Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team in Hyderabad. Key Responsibilities As an AR Collections Representative, you will manage end-to-end accounts receivable functions within the RCM domain. Your work will involve reviewing and resolving pending insurance balances, coordinating with payers, patients, and clients to expedite claim closures. You will analyse Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and denial patterns at the claim level, identify root causes, and recommend process improvements that enhance first-pass denial rates and reduce AR ageing. You will also be responsible for maintaining all workflow items within defined turnaround times and quality benchmarks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies. Required Qualifications Graduate with a minimum of 18 months to 5 years of hands-on experience in AR Calling within a US healthcare RCM environment. Candidates must possess Hospital Billing expertise (UB04) as a mandatory requirement, along with demonstrated knowledge of Denial Management processes. Graduate degree (10+2+3) is mandatory 2 to 5 years of experience in AR Calling in a US healthcare setting Hands-on experience in both Physician Billing and Hospital Billing Hospital Billing (UB04) experience is mandatory Proven expertise in Denial Management within the RCM domain Strong working knowledge of medical insurance types including HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Payers Ability to analyse EOBs and denials at a granular claim level Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook Effective communication skills in American English with a neutral accent Familiarity with HIPAA rules, privacy regulations, and release of information protocols Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional judgment skills Accurate and efficient typing and keyboard skills Must be open to working night shifts and from the office
