AI Engineer - Agentic AI and Advanced Capabilities (AVP)

Role Overview NatWest Group is looking for a talented and driven AI Engineer to join their Agentic AI and Advanced Capabilities team at the Associate Vice President level. Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain end-to-end AI and GenAI solutions using large language models and agentic frameworks for autonomous task execution - Develop intelligent agents with advanced reasoning, planning, and tool-use capabilities, integrating seamlessly with enterprise APIs - Implement, optimise, and scale RAG pipelines using vector databases to deliver accurate and context-aware outputs - Fine-tune LLMs, apply advanced prompt engineering techniques, and optimise models for domain-specific performance - Define robust evaluation frameworks to measure accuracy, latency, reliability, and minimise hallucinations - Deliver production-ready AI systems following modern DevOps, Responsible AI, and Agile engineering practices - Own the full software development life cycle from requirements analysis and design through to coding, testing, deployment, and operations - Collaborate with engineers, architects, and business analysts to optimise software engineering capability across the platform Required Qualifications - Minimum nine years of experience as a PySpark and AI Engineer specialising in Agentic AI and advanced capabilities - Proven experience designing and building end-to-end AI and GenAI solutions with LLMs and agentic frameworks - Hands-on expertise with RAG pipeline development and vector database integration - Strong background in fine-tuning LLMs and applying advanced prompt engineering strategies - Experience with development and testing tools, bug tracking tools, and documentation wikis - Proficiency in multiple programming languages or low-code toolsets - Solid understanding of DevOps, Agile methodology, and associated toolsets - Demonstrated ability to solve highly complex analytical and numerical problems - Strong command of programming best practices around scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, and performance Why Join Us NatWest Group offers a dynamic and inclusive environment where you can deepen your technical expertise, lead meaningful AI innovation, and advance your career at one of the world's leading financial services groups.
