Role Overview
Standard Chartered Bank is seeking an experienced Vice President to join its Operational, Technology and Cyber Risk (OTCR) team in Chennai. This is a second line-of-defence individual contributor role focused on maturing the Bank's Information and Cyber Security (ICS) and Technology control compliance capabilities. The position reports directly to the Head of OTCR, T&O International Markets, Policy and Regulatory Management and plays a critical part in shaping the Bank's risk oversight strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Map, develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of internal capabilities that deliver controls traceability and observability in partnership with first line-of-defence teams
- Identify and drive opportunities to integrate control traceability and observability capabilities into ICS and Technology risk profile reporting using data-driven insights
- Partner with first line teams to understand and shape the Bank's strategic roadmap for maturing controls compliance capabilities
- Support evaluation of Group Policies and Standards effectiveness as defined in the Enterprise Risk Management Framework
- Drive thought leadership on how Policies and Standards must evolve to adapt to changing business, industry and regulatory demands
- Support compliance attestation submissions against both internal frameworks such as ERM and external requirements such as Basel Committee on Banking Supervision guidelines
- Evaluate capability maturity and benchmark internal practices against industry best practice
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in an ICS or Technology risk role within a first, second or third line of defence function
- Strong knowledge of ICS and Technology industry frameworks and risk management principles
- Technical expertise across domains including software delivery, IT operations, security architecture, cyber defence, security monitoring, data protection and identity and access management
- Thorough understanding of internal controls for managing ICS and Technology risks in business processes
- Strong leadership, negotiation, collaboration and stakeholder management skills across all levels including senior leadership
- Ability to collect and analyse data, establish facts and make sound risk-based recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to convey complex technical risk topics to non-technical audiences
- Professional certifications such as CCSP, CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CISM or GIAC are desirable

Requirements

- Desirable: Professional certifications such as CCSP, CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CISM or GIAC
