Staff Test Engineer - Automation Test Developer

Role Overview Vantiva, a global connectivity technology leader with over 130 years of innovation in broadband, video, and IoT-driven smart systems, is looking for a skilled Staff Test Engineer with a strong automation development background to join their Chennai team. This is a mid-senior level full-time opportunity for professionals with deep expertise in test automation, Linux-based networking environments, and embedded systems. You will play a key role in building and scaling robust test automation frameworks that support development and QA teams across the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop software automation frameworks using modern test automation tools and methodologies - Collaborate with developer and QA teams to identify framework requirements and drive implementation through to production - Develop, manage, and troubleshoot full-stack applications while maintaining DevOps lifecycle documentation for all features - Build and deploy reliable, cost-effective test automation solutions that support QA, Dev, and Ops teams - Review project progress, evaluate outcomes, and recommend technical corrections as needed - Mentor and guide junior engineers while providing technical leadership on best practices and procedures - Partner with technology teams to troubleshoot complex problems and drive continuous improvement initiatives - Assist with project planning, scheduling, and effort estimation Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or MCA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field - 8 or more years of overall experience with at least 4 years in automation development using Java and TestNG - Hands-on experience in RDK, OpenWRT, Broadband or Router, and Cable or Telco domain - Strong proficiency in Linux, Shell Scripting, Maven, Selenium, Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines - Working knowledge of networking protocols including Routing, Bridging, DHCP, NAT, IPv6, Firewall, QoS, IPSec, VPN, and PPPoE - Experience with Linux networking stack, system programming, and debugging - Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies in a DevOps environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills Why Join Us Vantiva is recognised among the top 2 percent of organisations globally for environmental and social performance, holding multiple Gold and Platinum EcoVadis medals. - Strong Linux skills and Linux system programming experience - Proficiency in Java (Core/J2EE), TestNG, Maven, Selenium, and Git - Experience in RDK, OpenWRT, Broadband or Router domain - Knowledge of networking protocols: Routing, DHCP, NAT, IPv6, Firewall, QoS, IPSec, VPN, PPPoE - Hands-on CI/CD and Jenkins experience - Shell Scripting skills; Python is an added advantage - Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban in a DevOps environment - Experience leading a team or project - Experience with Broadcom SoC or OpenWRT is advantageous - Bachelor's degree or MCA in Computer Science or related field - 8 or more years of relevant experience
