Role Overview Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a Senior Associate Backend Engineer in Chennai to design and build world-class banking API solutions. In this agile developer role, you will collaborate with product owners to design user stories, test cases, and robust backend modules. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and implement Microservice APIs using Spring Boot and Java frameworks. - Build REST and SOAP APIs, ensuring seamless integration with third-party systems. - Implement containerized solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift. - Perform test-driven development (TDD) and coordinate CI/CD pipelines in an agile environment. - Collaborate with database administrators, messaging teams, and architects to align specs. - Support developers by providing technical assistance and participating in peer code reviews. - Author low-level and high-level design documents and technical solution architecture records. Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 10+ years of software development experience, focusing on backend engineering. - Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and relational databases like Postgres or Oracle. - Solid experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, Jira, Maven, and Junit. - Strong analytical, team leadership, and agile software development lifecycle (SDLC) skills.
