Snowflake Developer

Role Overview IQVIA India is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Snowflake Developer to join their data engineering team in Bengaluru. This role involves leading the design, development, and performance optimization of cloud-based data warehouse solutions built on Snowflake. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and analytics teams to deliver scalable and efficient data solutions in the pharmaceutical domain. Key Responsibilities - Design and implement scalable Snowflake data warehouse architectures tailored to business needs - Develop and maintain complex SQL transformations, data models, and views - Leverage advanced Snowflake capabilities including streams, tasks, time travel, zero-copy cloning, and secure data sharing - Manage end-to-end data flows covering ingestion through to analytics consumption - Analyse and optimize query performance, clustering strategies, and warehouse sizing - Monitor Snowflake platform usage and drive cost efficiency initiatives - Define and enforce Snowflake development best practices and coding standards - Design and oversee ELT pipelines using orchestration tools such as ADF, Airflow, or Informatica - Integrate Snowflake with varied data sources including RDBMS, REST APIs, and cloud storage systems - Implement robust error handling, monitoring, and data recovery mechanisms Required Qualifications - Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake platform development and administration - Advanced SQL skills including query tuning, optimization, and complex data transformations - Solid grasp of data warehousing concepts, architectures, and ETL/ELT methodologies - Proficiency in Python, PySpark, or Snowpark for data engineering workflows - Practical experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS - Familiarity with data governance, security best practices, and performance tuning - Experience with version control using Git and CI/CD pipeline management - Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is an added advantage Why Join Us IQVIA India is a global leader in connected intelligence for the healthcare industry, offering professionals an opportunity to work on meaningful projects at the intersection of data and life sciences.
