Role Overview
Arrow Electronics is looking for a Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join their global cloud platform team on a long-term basis working during US business hours. This is a senior technical leadership position that carries organization-wide influence, combining deep software engineering expertise with advanced site reliability practices. The ideal candidate is someone who has hands-on experience building and shipping production software and now drives reliability from within, taking an end-to-end view from code commit to live production operations.
Key Responsibilities

- Participate in and drive architectural reviews, embedding reliability, testability, and operability as first-class requirements from the early design stage
- Design and maintain highly available, multi-region, multi-cloud systems on AWS and GCP supporting millions of IoT devices globally
- Define and enforce SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets while guiding teams in building fault-tolerant microservices and monolithic systems
- Lead high-severity incident response, facilitate blameless postmortems, and drive systemic fixes to prevent recurring failures
- Implement safe deployment strategies including canary, blue/green, and progressive delivery, and build CI/CD guardrails to reduce deployment risk
- Develop and mature observability strategies using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry across infrastructure and services
- Bridge development and SRE teams by reviewing PRs, reading code, and translating between engineering intent and operational reality
- Partner with strategic teams to enable the organisation as a cloud-integrated service and support secure partner integrations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- 10 or more years of combined software engineering and SRE or infrastructure experience with a clear progression from development into reliability engineering
- Strong understanding of the complete Software Development Lifecycle enabling well-informed reliability and design decisions at every phase
- Proven hands-on expertise with AWS and GCP cloud platforms and deep experience running Kubernetes in production
- Advanced proficiency in Terraform including modular design and infrastructure governance
- Experience supporting Java-based monolithic systems and microservices architectures alongside Python scripting for automation and tooling
- Working knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management, mTLS, cipher suite hardening, and TLS version enforcement
- Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and incident management capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to influence across distributed engineering teams without formal authority
