Senior Software Engineer - Snowflake and Microsoft Data Fabric

Role Overview Carelon Global Solutions, a fully owned subsidiary of Elevance Health and one of America's leading managed healthcare companies, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Snowflake and Microsoft Data Fabric. This is a high-impact role within a global team of innovators working to simplify complex healthcare operations through cutting-edge data engineering. You will work across multiple locations including Hyderabad, Gurugram, and Bengaluru, contributing to scalable, next-generation data platforms that drive real-world health outcomes. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions using Snowflake and Microsoft Data Fabric components such as Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Warehouses, and Pipelines - Build and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and data transformations for large-scale healthcare datasets including claims, eligibility, provider, clinical, and pharmacy data - Develop and manage end-to-end data pipelines, semantic models, and data products aligned with business and analytics needs - Collaborate closely with business analysts and stakeholders to translate healthcare requirements into robust technical data solutions - Ensure data quality, accuracy, and performance optimization while adhering to healthcare data standards and governance frameworks - Perform root-cause analysis for data issues and implement scalable, long-term fixes - Support UAT activities, data validation, reconciliation, and production support - Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and proper handling of PHI and PII data - Participate in design reviews and code reviews and promote best practices across the data engineering team Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline - 5 or more years of hands-on experience in data engineering or software engineering roles - Strong expertise in Snowflake including data modeling, performance tuning, and SQL optimization - Proven experience with Microsoft Data Fabric including Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, and Warehouses - Expert-level SQL skills for data analysis, transformation, and validation - Proficiency in Python for data engineering workflows - Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL and ELT patterns - Experience handling large and complex datasets on cloud data platforms Why Join Us Carelon Global Solutions offers a world of limitless opportunities backed by a culture that values innovation, well-being, learning, and belonging. - 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering - Strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, SQL optimization) - Proficiency in Python - Experience with Microsoft Data Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, Warehouses) - Expert-level SQL skills for transformation, analysis, and validation - Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT patterns - Experience with large-scale cloud data platforms - Knowledge of healthcare data types including claims, eligibility, provider, clinical, and pharmacy - Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and PHI/PII data handling - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
