Senior Software Engineer III - GenAI

Role Overview Carelon Global Solutions, a fully owned subsidiary of Elevance Health and one of the largest managed healthcare companies in the United States, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer III with deep expertise in Generative AI and machine learning. This is a senior-level, full-time opportunity based in Bengaluru, ideal for engineers who have hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade LLM and agentic AI systems. You will work at the intersection of data science, product engineering, and AI research to simplify and modernise complex healthcare operations. Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and deploy scalable LLM, RAG, and agent-based AI systems for production environments - Architect and manage LLM inference and deployment pipelines with a focus on performance and cost efficiency - Collaborate closely with data science, research, and product teams to deliver end-to-end GenAI solutions - Maintain high standards of code quality through testing, reproducibility, and CI/CD best practices - Mentor junior engineers and champion responsible, ethical AI development across teams - Optimize machine learning models for efficient production deployment using quantization, pruning, and distillation techniques - Build and manage data pipelines using tools such as Snowflake, Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline - 5 or more years of experience in software engineering or data engineering roles - Advanced proficiency in Python with strong command of NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn - Deep learning expertise using PyTorch or TensorFlow - Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks including Hugging Face Transformers and LangChain - Proven experience with agentic AI frameworks such as AutoGen, CrewAI, and LangGraph - Strong working knowledge of RAG pipelines, semantic search, and vector databases such as FAISS, Pinecone, and Chroma - Solid software engineering fundamentals including microservices architecture, test-driven development, and concurrency - Experience with cloud AI deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms Why Join Us At Carelon, you will be part of a global team of innovators working to make healthcare simpler and more effective, supported by a culture that values learning, well-being, diversity, and limitless professional growth.
