Senior QA Engineer

Role Overview R Systems is looking for a seasoned Senior QA Engineer to join their growing technology team in Chennai. This is a full-time, mid-senior level opportunity suited for a quality assurance professional with 5 or more years of hands-on experience who can work independently and guide junior team members. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical depth across automation, CI/CD pipelines, and test strategy design. Key Responsibilities - Design and implement test strategies at the project and solution level, covering resources, integration points, activity planning, and risk management - Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to drive the overall QA strategy and ensure its successful execution - Create and maintain regression environments, automated validation suites, and test plans with minimal guidance from architects or tech leads - Review test scripts and test specifications produced by QA team members and provide constructive feedback - Execute complex test cases across integration, regression, performance, system, and acceptance testing phases - Align with internal and external technical experts to clarify requirements, understand business logic, and assess impact on testing strategies - Identify root causes of defects during troubleshooting and report bugs comprehensively following established reporting processes - Centralise test results and deliver clear status reports to the Project Manager - Conduct technical interviews and evaluate candidates across all experience levels - Provide effort estimates for own tasks within a plus or minus 10 percent range and for tasks within existing solutions Required Qualifications - 5 or more years of relevant QA engineering experience with demonstrated autonomy and leadership capability - Expert-level knowledge of Unix and Linux operating systems - Strong scripting skills in Bash, Perl, and Python for task automation and text processing - Proficiency in Git and other source code management tools including branching, merging, and build systems - Hands-on expertise with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and GitHub - Solid understanding of networking principles including protocols and APIs - Ability to configure and troubleshoot virtualised environments independently - Experience in both manual and automated testing methodologies Why Join Us R Systems offers a dynamic work environment where senior engineers are empowered to shape quality processes and mentor the next generation of QA talent.
