Senior Data Engineer

Role Overview Dexian India is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join its Enterprise Data and Analytics Team in Chennai. This is a full-time, hands-on role for a mid-to-senior professional who can design and deliver scalable data products that support analytics, data science, and business decision-making across the organization. You will play a key role in the company's data modernization journey by combining technical depth with architectural thinking and team leadership. Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather data solution requirements, identify gaps, and assess feasibility - Design, document, and implement robust technical solutions that meet evolving business needs - Develop and maintain data pipelines that consolidate complex datasets into unified, governed views - Build and manage analytics infrastructure consumed by data analysts, data scientists, AI engineers, and business partners - Create scalable and maintainable software components using C#, Python, and other relevant languages in VSCode - Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines using Git-based version control workflows - Implement automated data quality checks, error handling, recovery processes, and replayability patterns - Build and maintain data models, transformation rules, data mappings, workflows, extractions, imports, and object models - Ensure all data solutions adhere to security protocols and organizational data governance standards - Mentor junior engineers, share technical expertise, and participate in peer code reviews to uphold quality standards Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field - 5 to 10 or more years of experience with SQL Server including T-SQL and relational data modeling - Proven background in BI Warehouse and Lakehouse development - Strong proficiency in C# or a comparable programming language - Hands-on experience with SSIS and Azure Data Factory - 1 to 3 years of experience with Microsoft Fabric, Python or PySpark, Medallion Data Architecture, and CI/CD pipelines - Preferred experience with statistical analysis and probability using Python or R - Familiarity with AI productivity tools, Microsoft Power BI, and Jupyter or Marimo notebooks Why Join Us At Dexian India, you will work on mission-critical data products that drive real business outcomes and have the opportunity to shape architecture decisions while growing your leadership skills.
