Remote Python Engineer (FastAPI)

Role Overview Turing is a San Francisco-based AI research accelerator and enterprise AI partner working with frontier AI labs and global organisations. We are looking for a skilled Python Developer with deep FastAPI expertise to contribute to an exciting Reinforcement Learning (RL) Gym project. In this role, you will build scalable backend services that support RL experiments and simulations, working closely with ML engineers and researchers in a fully remote setup. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain FastAPI-based services for experimentation workflows and simulation environments - Work alongside ML engineers to expose APIs for model training, evaluation, and benchmarking tasks - Write clean, efficient, and production-ready Python code with a strong focus on scalability and long-term maintainability - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimise data pipelines, and manage smooth application deployments Required Qualifications - 4 or more years of professional Python development experience with at least 3 years of hands-on FastAPI expertise - Solid knowledge of REST APIs, asynchronous programming, and end-to-end API lifecycle management - Good understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, CI/CD, version control, and design patterns - Familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus - Exposure to Reinforcement Learning environments like OpenAI Gym, Gymnasium, or Stable Baselines is an added advantage - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Why Join Us Turing offers you the flexibility of a fully remote contractor engagement while giving you the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside top researchers and leading LLM companies.
