Remote Python Developer with FastAPI Expertise

Role Overview Turing is a San Francisco-based AI research accelerator and enterprise AI partner that works with frontier AI labs and global businesses to deploy advanced AI systems at scale. We are currently looking for a skilled Python Developer with deep FastAPI expertise to contribute to an innovative Reinforcement Learning Gym project. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and delivering robust backend services that support RL experimentation and simulation workflows in a fully remote contractor setup. Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain scalable FastAPI-based services for experimentation pipelines and simulation environments - Partner with ML engineers to develop and expose APIs for model training, evaluation, and benchmarking workflows - Write clean, production-grade Python code with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability - Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimise data pipelines, and ensure seamless application deployment - Collaborate across engineering and research teams to deliver high-quality backend solutions on tight timelines Required Qualifications - Minimum 4 years of professional Python development experience with at least 3 years of hands-on FastAPI expertise - Solid knowledge of REST APIs, asynchronous programming, and API lifecycle management - Strong foundation in software engineering best practices including testing, CI/CD, version control, and design patterns - Familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is advantageous - Exposure to Reinforcement Learning environments like OpenAI Gym, Gymnasium, or Stable Baselines is a plus - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline Why Join Us Turing offers you the flexibility of a fully remote work arrangement while giving you access to some of the most advanced and impactful AI projects in the industry.
