Remote Python Developer - FastAPI

Role Overview Turing is a San Francisco-based AI research accelerator and enterprise AI partner that works with frontier AI labs and global organisations to build advanced, production-ready AI systems. We are looking for a skilled Python Developer with deep expertise in FastAPI to contribute to an exciting Reinforcement Learning Gym project. You will be responsible for designing and delivering robust backend APIs that power RL training pipelines, simulation environments, and benchmarking workflows. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable FastAPI-based services supporting experimentation and simulation workflows - Collaborate closely with ML engineers to expose APIs for model training, evaluation, and benchmarking - Write clean, efficient, production-grade Python code with a focus on scalability and long-term maintainability - Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimise backend pipelines, and ensure smooth application deployments Required Qualifications - 4 or more years of professional Python development experience with at least 3 years of hands-on FastAPI expertise - Solid experience with REST APIs, asynchronous programming, and end-to-end API lifecycle management - Strong understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, CI/CD, version control, and design patterns - Familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus - Exposure to Reinforcement Learning environments such as OpenAI Gym, Gymnasium, or Stable Baselines is an added advantage - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field Why Join Us Turing offers you the freedom to work fully remotely on cutting-edge AI projects in collaboration with some of the world's leading LLM companies.
