Remote Python Developer FastAPI

Role Overview Turing is a San Francisco-based global leader in frontier AI research acceleration and enterprise AI deployment. The company is looking for a skilled Python Developer with deep FastAPI expertise to contribute to an exciting Reinforcement Learning Gym project. This is a remote contractor engagement offering the chance to work on cutting-edge AI systems alongside top researchers and engineers from around the world. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain FastAPI-based backend services to support experimentation workflows and simulation environments - Work closely with machine learning engineers to expose robust APIs for model training, evaluation, and benchmarking tasks - Write clean, production-grade Python code with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize data pipelines, and ensure smooth application deployments - Participate in API lifecycle management including versioning, documentation, and testing Required Qualifications - Minimum 4 years of professional Python development experience with at least 3 years of hands-on FastAPI expertise - Solid understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous programming, and API lifecycle management best practices - Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals including CI/CD, version control, testing, and design patterns - Familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow is an added advantage - Exposure to Reinforcement Learning environments such as OpenAI Gym, Gymnasium, or Stable Baselines is a bonus - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline Why Join Us Turing gives you the flexibility to work fully remotely while collaborating on pioneering AI projects with some of the world's leading LLM companies. - 4+ years of Python development experience - 3+ years of strong hands-on experience with FastAPI - Proficiency in REST APIs and asynchronous programming - Knowledge of API lifecycle management - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and design patterns - Experience with NumPy and Pandas - Exposure to PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus - Knowledge of Reinforcement Learning environments like OpenAI Gym or Gymnasium is a bonus - SQL experience is an added advantage - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field - Availability of at least 4 hours per day with 4-hour overlap with PST timezone
