Remote LLM Trainer - Agent Function Calling

This is a remote contract opportunity to contribute directly to improving Large Language Models by generating high-quality training and evaluation data for a foundational LLM company. You will play a key role in shaping how next-generation AI assistants reason, plan, and use tools to solve real-world tasks. Key Responsibilities - Design and simulate multi-turn conversations between users and AI assistants that involve tool usage across apps such as calendar, email, maps, and drive - Play both the user and assistant roles within each dialogue, crafting interactions that reflect natural language, contextual awareness, and intelligent decision-making - Select and apply function-calling tools accurately, ensuring logical flow and correct API usage throughout each conversation - Generate training examples that demonstrate how an assistant handles feasible tasks, gracefully declines infeasible ones, and maintains coherent general conversation when tools are not needed - Follow an internal playbook to ensure all outputs meet formatting and quality standards - Iterate on conversation samples based on reviewer feedback to improve realism and training value - Collaborate with peers and reviewers to maintain consistency and high output quality across deliverables Required Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a technical or analytical role - Strong grasp of APIs, data formats such as JSON, and logical reasoning applied to real-world assistant behaviour - Ability to break down complex tasks and simulate realistic multi-turn dialogues that align with user expectations - Excellent written English communication skills with a focus on clarity, tone, and instructional coherence - Creativity and attention to detail when crafting scenarios that feel authentic and contextually appropriate - Experience or familiarity with LLMs, virtual assistants, or function-calling frameworks is a plus - Ability to work at least 20 hours per week with a minimum 4-hour daily overlap with PST timezone Why Join Us This is a rare opportunity to work at the cutting edge of AI development on a fully remote basis, contributing proprietary data that directly shapes the capabilities of leading large language models.
