Remote LLM Trainer - Agent Function Call

As an LLM Trainer specialising in Agent Function Calling, you will work on a project with a leading foundational large language model company, contributing high-quality proprietary training and evaluation data to help advance next-generation AI capabilities. Your work will directly influence how AI assistants reason, plan, and act in real-world scenarios. Key Responsibilities - Design and simulate high-quality multi-turn conversations between users and AI assistants that leverage function-calling tools such as calendar, email, maps, and drive apps - Play the role of both the user and the AI assistant within each dialogue, including simulating tool calls where appropriate to guide the assistant through complex reasoning tasks - Carefully determine when and how the assistant should invoke available tools, ensuring logical flow and proper API usage throughout each conversation - Craft dialogues that reflect natural language, intelligent decision-making, and contextual continuity across multiple turns - Generate training examples that demonstrate the assistant handling feasible tasks gracefully, identifying infeasible requests, and maintaining general conversational quality when tools are not required - Ensure all deliverables conform to defined formatting and quality standards using an internal playbook, and iterate based on reviewer feedback - Collaborate with peers and quality reviewers to maintain consistency and high standards across all conversation examples Required Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a technical or analytical domain - Strong general technical reasoning skills with the ability to model real-world assistant behaviour using tool-based APIs - Solid understanding of APIs, data formats such as JSON, and logical problem-solving regardless of specific programming language or tech stack - Excellent written English communication skills with a focus on clarity, tone, and instructional coherence - Ability to follow detailed guidelines and formatting standards with high consistency - Prior experience working with LLMs, virtual assistants, or function-calling frameworks is a plus Why Join Us This is a fully remote freelance engagement that gives you the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI research alongside some of the most prominent LLM companies in the world.
