Remote Data Scientist

Role Overview Turing, a San Francisco-based global leader in frontier AI research acceleration and enterprise AI deployment, is seeking experienced Data Scientists and Data Engineers for a remote contractor engagement. This is a benchmark-driven evaluation role where you will work on SWE Bench-style projects involving real-world data engineering and data science workflows. You will play a hands-on role in building, validating, and documenting data pipelines that help assess and improve the performance of cutting-edge AI systems. Key Responsibilities - Work with structured and unstructured datasets to support SWE Bench-style AI evaluation tasks - Design, build, and validate production-like data pipelines used in benchmarking workflows - Perform data processing, feature preparation, analysis, and output validation for data science use cases - Write, run, and modify Python scripts to process data and support AI experiments locally - Evaluate data quality, transformations, and outputs for correctness and reproducibility - Create clean, well-documented, and reusable data workflows suited for benchmarking environments - Participate in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality and maintainability - Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to design challenging real-world data tasks for AI evaluation Required Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or data-focused Software Engineer - Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering and data science workflows - Proven experience with data processing, analysis, and model-related workflows - Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and data science principles - Hands-on experience working with both structured and unstructured data - Ability to read, navigate, and modify complex real-world codebases - Experience writing readable, reusable, and well-documented code - Strong problem-solving skills with experience handling algorithmic or data-intensive challenges - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills Why Join Us Turing offers a fully remote freelance opportunity to work on high-impact AI projects alongside leading LLM companies from across the world.
