Remote Data Scientist

Role Overview Turing, a San Francisco-based global leader in frontier AI research acceleration and enterprise AI deployment, is seeking experienced Data Engineers and Data Scientists to support benchmark-driven evaluation projects. This is a fully remote contract opportunity where you will contribute to SWE Bench-style evaluation tasks involving real-world data engineering and data science workflows. You will help evaluate and improve advanced AI systems through hands-on work with production-like datasets, data pipelines, and model-related workflows. Key Responsibilities - Work with structured and unstructured datasets to support SWE Bench-style AI evaluation tasks - Design, build, and validate data pipelines used in benchmarking and evaluation workflows - Perform data processing, feature preparation, analysis, and validation for data science use cases - Write, run, and modify Python scripts to process data and support experiments in local environments - Evaluate data quality, transformations, and outputs for correctness and reproducibility - Create clean, well-documented, and reusable data workflows suitable for benchmarking purposes - Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of quality and maintainability - Collaborate with researchers and engineers to design real-world data engineering challenges for AI systems Required Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or data-focused Software Engineer - Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering and data science workflows - Proven experience with data processing, analysis, and model-related workflows - Solid understanding of machine learning and data science fundamentals - Experience working with both structured and unstructured data - Ability to navigate, understand, and modify complex real-world codebases - Experience writing readable, reusable, and well-documented code - Strong problem-solving and algorithmic thinking skills - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills Why Join Us Turing offers a fully remote freelance environment where you can work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading LLM companies from around the world.
