Remote Data Analyst

Role Overview Turing is a San Francisco-based AI research accelerator and enterprise AI partner that works with leading frontier AI labs and global organizations. We are hiring experienced Data Analysts to join our MLE Bench evaluation team on a remote contract basis. In this role, you will work closely with machine learning engineers and researchers to assess, diagnose, and enhance the performance of advanced AI systems through rigorous data analysis and benchmark-driven evaluation. Key Responsibilities - Analyze structured and unstructured datasets sourced from ML training, inference, and evaluation pipelines - Define, compute, and validate performance metrics used to evaluate model behavior and outputs - Investigate data distributions, failure modes, and edge cases relevant to benchmark evaluation tasks - Write and execute Python and SQL code to support analysis workflows, generate reports, and automate tasks - Validate data quality, consistency, and correctness across multiple datasets and experimental runs - Produce clear, reproducible analytical artifacts and maintain well-documented analysis workflows - Collaborate with ML engineers and researchers to design challenging real-world evaluation scenarios for MLE Bench Required Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or analytics-focused engineer - Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis tasks - Solid hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases - Experience analyzing machine learning outputs and working with model evaluation metrics - Strong understanding of statistics and analytical reasoning principles - Ability to work with large, complex datasets and extract reliable, actionable insights - Experience writing clean, readable, and well-documented code - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills Why Join Us This is a fully remote freelance opportunity that gives you the chance to work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside top researchers and engineers at the forefront of frontier AI development.
