Remote Data Analyst

Role Overview Turing, a San Francisco-based global leader in frontier AI research and enterprise AI deployment, is looking for skilled Data Analysts to join its MLE Bench evaluation team on a remote contract basis. This role focuses on benchmark-driven analysis of real-world machine learning systems, helping to evaluate, diagnose, and enhance the performance of advanced AI models. You will work at the intersection of data analysis and machine learning, applying strong analytical thinking to production-like datasets and ML evaluation workflows. Key Responsibilities - Analyze structured and unstructured datasets produced from ML training, inference, and evaluation pipelines - Define, compute, and validate performance metrics used to measure model behavior and output quality - Investigate data distributions, failure modes, and edge cases relevant to benchmark evaluation tasks - Write and execute Python and SQL code to support data analysis, reporting, and evaluation workflows - Validate data quality, consistency, and accuracy across datasets and experimental runs - Produce well-documented, reproducible analytical artifacts and workflow reports - Collaborate with ML engineers and researchers to design challenging, real-world evaluation scenarios for MLE Bench Required Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Analytics-focused Engineer - Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis tasks - Solid hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases - Prior experience analyzing ML model outputs and evaluation metrics - Strong grounding in statistics and analytical reasoning - Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex datasets and derive reliable insights - Experience writing clean, readable, and well-documented analytical code - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Why Join Us Turing offers the flexibility of a fully remote work environment with the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading LLM companies worldwide.
