Remote Data Analyst

Role Overview Turing, a San Francisco-based AI research accelerator and trusted partner to global enterprises, is seeking experienced Data Analysts with a focus on MLE Bench evaluation projects. This is a remote contractor role that places you at the intersection of data analysis and machine learning, working with production-like datasets to evaluate and improve advanced AI systems. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical rigor, hands-on ML evaluation experience, and the ability to derive reliable insights from complex datasets. Key Responsibilities - Analyze structured and unstructured datasets generated from ML training, inference, and evaluation pipelines - Define, compute, and validate performance metrics used to assess model behavior and output quality - Investigate data distributions, failure modes, and edge cases relevant to benchmark evaluation tasks - Write and execute Python and SQL code to support data analysis, reporting, and evaluation workflows - Validate data quality, consistency, and accuracy across datasets and experiments - Create well-documented, reproducible analytical artifacts and workflows - Collaborate with ML engineers and researchers to design challenging, real-world evaluation scenarios for MLE Bench Required Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Analytics-focused Engineer - Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis tasks - Solid hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases - Demonstrated experience analyzing ML model outputs and evaluation metrics - Strong foundation in statistics and analytical reasoning - Ability to work with large and complex datasets to derive meaningful insights - Experience writing clean, readable, and well-documented analytical code - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills Why Join Us This role offers you the flexibility of a fully remote work environment along with the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects in collaboration with leading LLM research teams.
