QA Automation Engineer

Role Overview Applix is hiring a skilled QA Automation Engineer to join their growing team in Chennai. Applix builds the manufacturing industry's only dedicated Manufacturing Operating System, helping factories automate operations, scale efficiently, and optimise production. This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced automation professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, and Cucumber - Automate functional, regression, integration, API, Web UI, mobile app, and Salesforce testing workflows - Customise Playwright reports, libraries, and framework components to suit project needs - Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for seamless continuous testing - Build and manage test data strategies, troubleshoot automation failures, and improve overall test stability - Generate detailed test reports, analyse quality trends, and communicate findings to stakeholders - Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams across the product lifecycle - Mentor junior QA engineers and champion automation best practices within the team Required Qualifications - 5 to 7 years of overall software testing experience with 5 or more years focused on test automation - Strong hands-on expertise with Playwright, Selenium, and Cucumber using Java - Proven experience testing Web Services, REST APIs, Web UI, Mobile Apps, and Salesforce applications - Solid SQL skills with Postgres and Snowflake databases - Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda - Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies - Experience with JavaScript or another functional programming language is an added advantage - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Why Join Us Applix is at the forefront of smart manufacturing technology, giving you the opportunity to work on impactful products that transform factory operations globally.
