uninterrupted utilities, minimum breakdowns and timely execution of plant
modifications, capacity expansions and CAPEX projects

Engineering & Maintenance

Management

Overall responsibility for
Engineering and Maintenance of the plant. Ensure preventive, predictive,
corrective and breakdown maintenance of production equipment and utilities.

Brownfield Project Execution

Lead plant expansion, capacity
enhancement, equipment addition/replacement, facility modification,
debottlenecking, automation and modernization projects within the running
plant.

Project Planning & Timeline

Management

Define scope, prepare schedules and
milestones, monitor daily progress and ensure projects are completed within
committed timelines with minimum disturbance to existing production.

CAPEX Planning & Budget Control

Prepare CAPEX proposals, project
estimates and budgets. Monitor Budget vs. Actual and control project
expenditure.

Equipment Reliability

Improve equipment uptime and
reliability, analyze repetitive breakdowns, conduct RCA and implement
CAPA/permanent corrective actions.

Preventive Maintenance

Prepare and monitor preventive
maintenance schedules and ensure timely closure with proper documentation and
compliance.

Utilities Management

Ensure reliable and efficient
operation of boilers, chillers, compressors, HVAC, water systems, electrical
systems and other plant utilities.

Equipment Installation &

Commissioning

Manage equipment selection, URS,
technical evaluation, FAT/SAT, installation, commissioning, trials and final
handover.

Qualification & Validation

Support

Coordinate DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ, utility
qualification and engineering-related validation activities with
QA/Validation teams.

Shutdown Management

Plan plant shutdown activities,
manpower, spares, contractors and timelines and ensure completion within the
approved shutdown period.

Vendor & Contractor Management

Develop and evaluate
vendors/contractors, review technical offers, coordinate execution and
monitor quality, safety, cost and timelines.

Spares Management

Identify critical spares, maintain
optimum inventory and ensure availability of essential engineering spares to
avoid prolonged downtime.

Energy & Cost Optimization

Identify opportunities for energy
conservation, utility optimization, automation, OPEX reduction and
improvement in equipment efficiency.

Quality & GMP Compliance

Ensure all engineering and project
activities comply with cGMP, SOPs, Change Control, Deviation, CAPA, Risk
Assessment and applicable quality requirements.

EHS & Statutory Compliance

Ensure engineering/project work
complies with EHS requirements and applicable Factory, electrical, fire,
environmental and other statutory requirements.

Audit Readiness

Maintain Engineering documentation
in an audit-ready condition and support regulatory, customer and internal
audits.

Team Leadership

Lead engineers, supervisors and
technicians; define responsibilities, allocate work, monitor performance and
develop technical capabilities of the team.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Coordinate with Production, QA, QC,
EHS, Purchase, Stores, PPIC, Finance and Management for maintenance and
project execution.

Management Reporting

Regularly report equipment health,
breakdowns, PM status, project progress, CAPEX utilization, Budget vs. Actual,
risks, delays and critical issues to Management.

20

Continuous Improvement

Drive improvement projects related
to reliability, productivity, safety, automation, energy consumption,
maintenance cost and operational efficiency.
