Principal Solution Architect

Role Overview SKF Group, a globally recognised leader in bearing technologies and industrial solutions with over a century of engineering excellence, is seeking a Principal Solution Architect to join its Digital Engineering and Innovation team in Bengaluru. This is a senior-level role reporting to the Director and Global Head of Digital Engineering and Innovation, responsible for shaping the architectural direction of digital products and services across SKF's technology landscape. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between IT infrastructure and business strategy, enabling SKF to deliver intelligent, clean, and scalable digital solutions to customers worldwide. Key Responsibilities - Lead architecture and design for a future-ready platform encompassing sales, products, and digital services - Assess existing systems and evaluate emerging technologies to align with evolving business models - Continuously research, implement, and optimise new technologies within the Digital Engineering and Innovation and Technology Development domains - Analyse current systems and workflows to uncover opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency - Maintain effective communication with DE&I management and Global IT to ensure alignment between technology systems and business goals - Evaluate and recommend suitable market technology options including software and hardware solutions - Create clear visualisations comparing current and future architecture states to guide decision-making Required Qualifications - Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related discipline - 15 or more years of overall experience including 5 to 10 years in software development and at least 5 years in architectural leadership roles - Strong knowledge of cloud computing, enterprise data management, and IT infrastructure - Proficiency in programming languages and database management systems - Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or Gartner - Understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and event-driven system design - Hands-on knowledge of DevOps practices and automation tools including Kubernetes - Knowledge of identity and access management, encryption standards, and compliance frameworks including GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO - Strong soft skills including strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders Why Join Us At SKF, you will be part of a purpose-driven global organisation that is re-imagining rotation for a better tomorrow through intelligent and sustainable innovation.
