Operations Engineer

Role Overview PhonePe is one of India's leading digital payments platforms with over 600 million registered users and 40 million merchants across the country. We are looking for a motivated Operations Engineer to join our growing infrastructure and audit enablement team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers and the Operations Engineering Manager to support audit processes, system health monitoring, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities - Execute audit evidence collection tasks as assigned by senior engineers and the Operations Engineering Manager - Maintain accurate logs, detailed reports, and essential audit artifacts on an ongoing basis - Monitor the health of backup and archival systems and flag anomalies as needed - Assist in tracking remediation activities and following up on gap closure - Learn and apply automation tools and standard operating procedures under senior guidance - Document recurring operational tasks and share knowledge and learnings with the wider team Required Qualifications - 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure or IT operations roles - Working knowledge of Linux, networking fundamentals, and basic database operations - Familiarity with at least one coding or scripting language - Basic understanding of system monitoring, backup procedures, and operational reporting - Ability to follow structured SOPs and carry out repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy - Strong willingness to learn automation practices and audit enablement processes - Good documentation habits and clear written and verbal communication skills Why Join Us At PhonePe, you will have the opportunity to work on platforms that impact millions of users every day while growing your career in a culture that trusts, empowers, and challenges you.
