Engineering Manager - Data Analytics

Role Overview Poppulo is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for our Data Analytics team in Bengaluru to lead the development of our next-generation analytics and AI-powered insights platform. In this hybrid leadership role, you will manage a cross-functional team of 8 to 10 software and data engineers while driving technical architecture and delivery on AWS. This is a critical position that combines hands-on engineering guidance with people management to shape how top enterprises communicate with their workforces. Key Responsibilities - Lead and mentor a team of 8-10 software and data engineers, promoting a culture of clean code, test automation, and continuous delivery - Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, cloud-native analytics platforms on AWS - Partner with product management and AI teams to embed machine learning and automated insights into the customer experience - Guide architectural decisions, system refactoring, data quality governance, and the reduction of technical debt - Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including UX, DevOps, and GTM teams, to ensure seamless release pipelines - Conduct 1:1 mentorship sessions, performance reviews, and career development planning for engineering team members Required Qualifications - Extensive hands-on software development experience with a strong background in data workflows and database systems - Proven experience leading engineering teams within a SaaS or data analytics environment - Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs - Hands-on familiarity with data tools such as Redshift, S3, EMR, PostgreSQL, and visualization suites - Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills to articulate technical trade-offs to non-technical partners Why Join Us Poppulo is a fast-growing, values-driven global communications leader recognized as a Great Place to Work. - 12 or more years of hands-on software engineering experience - 2 or more years of experience in a technical leadership or engineering management role leading data and analytics projects - Expertise in AWS databases, SQL, ETL pipelines, and data warehouse architectures - Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and system observability - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
