- About the role:
- Design and develop seasonal knitwear collections across multiple categories, ensuring alignment with brand direction, consumer trends, and commercial objectives.
- Research global fashion, consumer insights, competitor assortments, and emerging design trends to create innovative and relevant product concepts.
- Develop design concepts, technical sketches, specifications, and artwork to support seamless product development and execution.
- Partner with Raw Materials, Product Development, and Sourcing teams to identify innovative fabrics, yarns, trims, finishes, and construction techniques that elevate product quality and consumer appeal.
- Collaborate with mills, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to co-create new knit structures, fabric innovations, and value-added product solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Technical Design, and Product Development teams to ensure design intent, commercial viability, quality standards, and production feasibility are achieved.
- Participate in sample reviews, providing timely feedback on fit, aesthetics, garment construction, and execution to deliver best-in-class products.
- Translate consumer insights and market opportunities into commercially successful assortments that strengthen category performance.
- Stay current with global fashion, retail, lifestyle, and textile innovations while incorporating sustainable and responsible design practices where appropriate.
- Manage multiple seasonal projects simultaneously while delivering high-quality designs within critical timelines.
- About you:
- Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline from NIFT, Pearl Academy, or an equivalent institute, with 10+ years of experience in Men's Knitwear Design.
- Design Expertise: Proven experience designing across flat knit and circular knit categories with a strong understanding of garment construction, yarns, knit structures, fabric behavior, washes, and finishing techniques.
- Global Fashion Perspective: Experience working with global menswear or lifestyle brands, with the ability to translate international trends into commercially successful products for the local market.
- Trend & Consumer Focus: Strong trend forecasting, concept development, and consumer insight capabilities with a passion for creating innovative products.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel. Experience with PLM systems and CLO 3D is preferred.
- Collaboration & Influence: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across Design, Merchandising, Product Development, Sourcing, Technical Design, and vendor partners.
- Execution Excellence: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities and seasonal timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Innovation Mindset: Knowledge of knit textile development, garment manufacturing, sustainable materials, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled design tools, will be an added advantage.
