Responsibilities & Key Deliverables


As the Deputy Manager - Production (Engine) at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Zaheerabad, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the entire engine assembly and testing operations within the Farm Division. Your key responsibilities will include:


Planning, organizing, and supervising engine assembly line activities to ensure timely and quality production outputs.


Implementing and maintaining manufacturing best practices, including continuous process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.


Coordinating cross-functional teams comprising production workers, quality control, maintenance, and logistics to meet production targets.


Monitoring assembly processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.


Managing resources efficiently, including workforce planning, tool allocation, and machine utilization.


Analyzing production data, identifying bottlenecks, and driving corrective actions to improve throughput and reduce downtime.


Collaborating closely with the Engineering and Quality departments to address any technical issues or deviations during product assembly.


Leading training and development initiatives to upskill team members in assembly techniques and safety procedures.


Preparing detailed reports on production metrics, workforce performance, and equipment status to senior management.


This position requires a hands-on approach and excellent leadership skills to foster a collaborative and high-performance production environment. You will be a pivotal figure in ensuring that Mahindra tractors maintain their reputation for durability and reliability.


Experience


The ideal candidate will possess substantial industry experience, typically ranging between 5 to 10 years, with a focus on manufacturing and assembly in the automotive or heavy machinery sector. Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:


Leadership and supervisory roles within engine assembly or mechanical production environments.


Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.


Hands-on familiarity with engine components, assembly techniques, and quality control processes.


Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, ensuring compliance with safety and production standards.


Experience in using production planning tools and ERP systems to monitor and control manufacturing workflows.


A track record of successfully implementing manufacturing improvements and cost-saving initiatives.


Experience working within Mahindra’s production standards or similar industry benchmarks will be a valuable asset, ensuring smoother onboarding and immediate contribution to the team.
