Data Scientist - Analytics Engineer (R&D Engineering)

Role Overview Dexcom, a global pioneer in continuous glucose monitoring technology, is looking for a talented Data Scientist and Analytics Engineer to join its R&D Engineering team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will be at the heart of transforming multi-disciplinary engineering data into scalable analytics and business intelligence solutions. You will work across mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering teams to standardize data practices, build powerful dashboards, and drive AI-enabled innovation in a regulated medical device environment. Key Responsibilities - Lead standardization and automation of engineering data pipelines across mechanical, electrical, hardware, and firmware domains - Design, model, and integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple engineering and enterprise systems - Build and maintain BI dashboards using Power BI and Tableau to deliver actionable insights for R&D teams and executive leadership - Collaborate with engineering and IT stakeholders to establish data governance, data quality standards, and scalable data management frameworks - Write and maintain SQL queries, data transformations, and automation workflows - Support data modeling and storage using MongoDB and relational database platforms - Drive evaluation, piloting, and implementation of AI and machine learning solutions including third-party AI tools - Apply statistical methods to analyze engineering test and validation data, identifying trends, variability, and performance drivers - Develop statistical models to support design verification, trade studies, and engineering decision-making - Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, quality, and efficiency through data analytics and AI Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of industry experience, or a PhD with up to 2 years of experience - Proven experience as a data analyst or data scientist in an engineering, R&D, or technical environment - Strong proficiency in SQL and NoSQL technologies including MongoDB - Hands-on experience building dashboards and analytics in Power BI and/or Tableau - Comfortable programming for data integration, automation, and analytics workflows - Good understanding of engineering data types across mechanical, electrical, hardware, and firmware development - Experience deploying or supporting AI and machine learning solutions - Familiarity with Onshape or CAD data migration is a plus - Strong communication skills with ability to work across engineering, leadership, and business teams - Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple data initiatives simultaneously Why Join Us At Dexcom, you will have a front-row seat to life-changing health technology that has already improved millions of lives worldwide.
