Data Privacy Manager

Role Overview Deloitte Shared Services India is looking for an experienced Data Privacy Manager to join its Information Security practice in Mumbai. This is an immediate joining opportunity suited for a seasoned professional with a strong background in data protection, privacy compliance, and regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to develop robust privacy strategies and ensure adherence to applicable data protection laws. Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement comprehensive data protection policies and procedures in line with applicable privacy regulations for diverse clients - Conduct thorough data privacy risk assessments and devise practical mitigation strategies tailored to each client's operational needs - Monitor and review data processing activities to ensure ongoing compliance with data protection laws and internal company policies - Guide clients through Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), privacy impact assessments, and data governance practices - Design, build, and refine security and privacy frameworks along with associated process controls to strengthen client privacy postures - Provide subject matter expertise on the Indian Personal Data Protection Bill and related global regulations such as GDPR Required Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in data protection or privacy compliance roles - CIPT, CIPM, or CIPPE certification is strongly preferred; equivalent certifications will be considered - In-depth understanding of the Personal Data Protection Bill in India and international data privacy laws - Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced consulting environment Why Join Us Deloitte Shared Services India offers a high-impact environment where privacy professionals can shape data governance strategies for leading organisations across industries. - Minimum 5 years of experience in data protection or privacy compliance - CIPT, CIPM, or CIPPE certification preferred - Strong knowledge of the Indian Personal Data Protection Bill and GDPR - Experience conducting DPIAs, risk assessments, and data governance reviews - Proficiency in designing privacy and security frameworks and process controls - Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, or a related field - Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills - Ability to manage multiple client engagements in a fast-paced environment - Immediate availability to join required - Current or preferred location must be Mumbai
