Data Governance Leader - Deputy Manager

Role Overview Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India is looking for an accomplished Data Governance Leader at the Deputy Manager level to spearhead enterprise-wide data governance initiatives. This is a strategic leadership role for a professional who thrives at the intersection of data management, compliance, and business enablement. You will be responsible for building a culture of data accountability and ensuring that data functions as a trusted, high-value asset across a complex global organisation. Key Responsibilities - Design and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and standards - Define and assign data ownership and stewardship roles across departments and geographies - Establish controls for data quality, metadata management, master data, and data lifecycle practices - Lead data governance councils and drive cross-functional collaboration across business units - Ensure full compliance with global data regulations including GDPR, CCPA, and automotive industry standards - Promote data literacy and stewardship culture through structured training and change management programmes - Monitor and report on governance KPIs, maturity models, and audit readiness metrics - Evaluate, deploy, and manage data governance platforms such as DataHub, Collibra, and Informatica - Benchmark data engineering and analytics practices against industry frameworks like DAMA-DMBOK, Gartner, and Atlan - Bridge technical execution with business oversight to enable secure, trustworthy, and strategically aligned data use Required Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline - 10 or more years of experience in data governance, data management, or IT leadership roles - Proven track record of implementing data governance programmes in complex, global environments - Strong understanding of data architecture, data privacy principles, and regulatory compliance frameworks - Experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector is an added advantage - Certifications such as CDMP, DGSP, or equivalent are preferred - Familiarity with data governance platforms and metadata management tools - Demonstrated ability to influence and lead change across diverse teams and cultures - Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Why Join Us Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India offers a dynamic environment where you can make a measurable impact on data strategy at a global automotive powerhouse.
