Business Analyst - Data Governance

Role Overview Kemin Industries is looking for a skilled Business Analyst with a specialisation in Data Governance to join their Chennai team. In this mid-senior role, you will be responsible for standardising data entry processes, elevating data quality, and strengthening the overall data governance framework across the organisation. You will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that business requirements are accurately translated into measurable data governance actions. Key Responsibilities - Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to gather business requirements related to data governance, process improvements, and system enhancements - Translate business needs into clear and actionable technical specifications for developers, data engineers, and system administrators - Evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of data governance tools and platforms - Contribute to the development and rollout of data governance policies, standards, and procedures - Conduct data quality assessments and assist in creating data quality rules and performance metrics - Lead process mapping exercises to document and standardise data entry and management workflows, identifying gaps and designing improved future-state processes - Coordinate triage and root cause analysis for data issues, prioritising remediation based on business value and risk - Establish and manage a structured escalation process for resolving data issues with proper documentation and stakeholder involvement - Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and custodians to promote effective data management practices - Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders across all levels of the organisation - Develop training materials and conduct user training on new processes, standards, and data governance tools - Analyse data sets to identify quality issues, trends, anomalies, and underlying root causes - Lead change impact assessments using quantitative evidence and insights Required Qualifications - B.E or B.Tech in Information Technology or Computer Science - Minimum 5 years of experience in business analytics - Proven experience in data governance, data quality management, or related domains - Strong ability to liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders - Proficiency in process mapping, requirements gathering, and documentation Why Join Us Kemin Industries offers a dynamic environment where your analytical expertise directly shapes the quality and integrity of data across a globally respected organisation.
