AVP, Complaints Data Strategy, Architecture & Governance (L11)

Role Overview Synchrony is looking for an Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Enterprise Complaints Data Strategy, Architecture and Governance. In this hands-on leadership role, you will define the end-to-end data strategy, design scalable data models, and build domain-aligned data products for our complaints ecosystem. Key Responsibilities - Define and execute the target-state vision and roadmap for the enterprise complaints data ecosystem. - Design scalable data architectures, data models, and domain-aligned products to power reporting. - Evaluate and onboard new data sources, ensuring high data quality, lineage, and compliance controls. - Maintain Collibra assets, business definitions, access controls, and data dictionaries as data steward. - Establish and run data quality controls, developing Tableau dashboards to track operational KPIs. - Partner with technology, operations, and governance leaders to align data priorities and delivery. - Build curated datasets to support advanced analytics, anomaly detection, and thematic risk analysis. - Lead complaint platform modernization projects and mentor less experienced data engineers. Required Qualifications - Six or more years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, and data governance. - Four or more years of hands-on data engineering experience building PySpark, Spark, or SAS pipelines. - Demonstrated experience analyzing large structured and unstructured datasets to resolve quality issues. - Proven track record of designing data strategy and architecture in regulated environments. - Excellent project management, relationship management, and communication skills.
