Audit Assistant / Articled Assistant

Role Overview M J ILLICKAN & CO Chartered Accountants, a reputed firm with over 25 years of excellence in financial and audit services, is looking for motivated Audit Assistants and Articled Assistants to join their Kochi team. This is an excellent opportunity for CA aspirants and accounting graduates to gain hands-on experience in statutory audits, taxation, and regulatory compliance under the guidance of seasoned professionals. Candidates pursuing CA, CMA, or ACCA articleship training are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities - Assist in conducting statutory audits, tax audits, and internal audits for clients across diverse industries - Perform vouching, verification, and preparation of audit working papers in compliance with applicable standards - Prepare and file Income Tax Returns, GST Returns, and TDS Returns, and handle GST reconciliation - Assist in ROC compliances and preparation of statutory forms under the Companies Act - Support preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, and working papers for tax assessments - Conduct research on taxation and accounting matters and assist seniors in drafting professional opinions - Coordinate with clients for data collection, query resolution, and ensuring compliance within deadlines - Work at client sites when required while maintaining strict client confidentiality at all times Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or a candidate pursuing CA, CMA, or ACCA - Candidates aspiring to complete 2-year or 3-year mandatory articleship training under a Chartered Accountant are eligible - Working knowledge of financial statements, audit reports, and financial audit procedures - Basic understanding of finance principles including taxation, GST, and corporate compliance - Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage compliance timelines effectively - Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Must be based in Kochi or willing to relocate Why Join Us At M J ILLICKAN & CO, you will receive structured mentorship and real-world exposure across audits, taxation, and advisory services that will accelerate your professional growth.
