Associate Director Back Office RCM Operations

Role Overview Optum is seeking a high-impact Associate Director of Back Office RCM Operations to lead our large-scale healthcare delivery team in Hyderabad. In this senior leadership role, you will own end-to-end revenue cycle outcomes, driving improvements in cash collections, AR days, and net revenue realization. Key Responsibilities - Lead and develop a high-performance team of 300 to 500+ FTEs in back-office RCM functions - Own and drive key financial metrics including cash collections, AR days, and denial rates - Collaborate with front-end and mid-cycle teams to fix process gaps impacting back-end outcomes - Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize operational efficiency and cost-to-collect - Drive the adoption of automation and AI-driven solutions across RCM workflows - Lead client governance discussions focusing on outcome metrics, root-cause analyses, and innovations Required Qualifications - Graduate degree (MBA is highly preferred) - Twelve or more years of experience in US Healthcare RCM and BPO operations - Proven track record of managing large-scale back-office operations with 300-500+ FTEs - Expert understanding of the end-to-end RCM lifecycle, cash acceleration, and denial management - Lean Six Sigma certification and experience in automation/AI programs are preferred Why Join Us At Optum, you will be part of UnitedHealth Group's global mission to make the health system work better for everyone.
