AI Prompt and Policy Specialist

Role Overview Turing, a globally recognized AI research accelerator headquartered in San Francisco, is looking for a skilled AI Prompt and Policy Specialist to join its growing team on a contract basis. In this role, you will sit at the crossroads of prompt engineering, AI policy design, and content safety, helping ensure that AI-driven workflows are accurate, compliant, and effective across multiple languages and regions. You will work closely with product, engineering, and safety teams to shape how AI systems interact with third-party tools and APIs. Key Responsibilities - Design, review, and continuously refine prompts and instructions for AI systems that interact with tools, APIs, and external services such as Slack and PayPal - Read and interpret API and JSON schemas to ensure correct parameter usage and expected tool behavior - Use SQL basics to validate data, investigate anomalies, and support analysis of AI or tool performance - Draft, document, and maintain policies and operational guidelines governing AI interactions, content handling, and tool-based workflows - Evaluate AI-generated responses for reasoning quality, parameter correctness, and policy adherence - Identify and flag unsafe, harmful, or non-compliant content by applying established content filtering guidelines - Validate prompts and responses across multiple locales to support multilingual use cases with attention to cultural nuance - Document edge cases, decision rationales, and actionable recommendations with clear written communication Required Qualifications - Three to six years of experience across AI operations, content review, QA, product operations, policy, or technical support functions - Strong API and JSON literacy with the ability to read schemas and verify correct argument usage - Working knowledge of SQL for running simple queries to validate data or support analysis - Demonstrated experience in prompt engineering or writing structured instructions for AI or automation systems - Proven ability to draft, interpret, and apply operational policies or guidelines - Familiarity with SaaS platform workflows such as Slack, PayPal, or similar tools - High safety awareness and sensitivity to harmful or policy-violating content - Excellent critical reasoning, attention to detail, and comfort working across multilingual contexts Why Join Us Turing offers you the flexibility of a fully remote work environment along with the rare opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI research projects alongside some of the world's leading large language model companies.
