AI Prompt and Policy Specialist

Role Overview Turing, a San Francisco-based global leader in frontier AI research and enterprise AI deployment, is looking for a skilled AI Prompt and Policy Specialist to join its growing team on a contract basis. In this role, you will sit at the crossroads of prompt engineering, policy design, and AI safety, ensuring that AI-driven workflows are accurate, compliant, and effective across diverse locales and user contexts. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and safety teams to evaluate and continuously improve how AI systems interact with third-party tools, APIs, and end users. Key Responsibilities - Design, review, and refine prompts and instructions for AI systems that interact with tools, APIs, and external services such as Slack and PayPal - Read and interpret API and JSON schemas to ensure correct parameter usage and consistent tool behavior - Apply basic SQL queries to validate data, investigate anomalies, and support analysis of AI or tool outputs - Create, document, and maintain policies and guidelines governing AI interactions, content handling, and tool-based workflows - Evaluate AI responses for reasoning quality, policy adherence, and parameter correctness - Ensure safety and compliance by applying content filtering guidelines and identifying unsafe or non-compliant outputs - Support multilingual use cases by validating prompts and responses across multiple locales with attention to nuance and clarity - Document edge cases, decision rationales, and actionable recommendations using clear and concise written communication Required Qualifications - 3 to 6 years of experience in AI operations, content review, QA, product operations, policy, or technical support - Strong API and JSON literacy with the ability to read schemas and verify correct parameter usage - Working knowledge of SQL basics for running queries and supporting data validation - Demonstrated experience in prompt engineering or writing structured instructions for AI or automation systems - Proven ability to draft, interpret, and apply operational policies and guidelines - Familiarity with SaaS tool workflows such as Slack, PayPal, or similar platforms - Strong written communication skills with comfort working across multilingual and multi-locale environments - High awareness of content safety and sensitivity to harmful or policy-violating content - Excellent critical reasoning and attention to detail, especially in ambiguous or complex scenarios Why Join Us Turing offers you the flexibility of a fully remote work environment along with the rare opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects in partnership with leading LLM companies worldwide.
