AI Prompt and Policy Specialist

Role Overview Turing, a San Francisco-based global leader in frontier AI research and enterprise AI deployment, is looking for an AI Prompt and Policy Specialist to join its remote team on a contract basis. In this role, you will work at the intersection of prompt engineering, policy design, and AI safety to ensure that AI-driven workflows are accurate, compliant, and user-friendly across multiple languages and locales. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and safety teams to evaluate and improve how AI systems interact with tools, APIs, and end users. Key Responsibilities - Design, review, and refine prompts and instructions for AI systems interacting with third-party tools, APIs, and external services such as Slack and PayPal - Read and interpret API and JSON schemas to verify correct parameter usage and validate tool behavior - Apply basic SQL queries to validate data, investigate issues, and support analysis of AI or tool outputs - Create, document, and maintain operational policies and guidelines governing AI interactions, content handling, and tool workflows - Evaluate AI responses for critical reasoning quality, policy adherence, and correctness of parameters - Support multilingual use cases by validating prompts and responses across multiple locales with attention to clarity and cultural nuance - Identify and document edge cases, decision rationales, and recommendations with clear written communication - Ensure safety and compliance by applying content filtering guidelines and flagging unsafe or non-compliant outputs Required Qualifications - 3 to 6 years of experience in any combination of AI operations, content review, QA, product operations, policy, or technical support roles - Strong API and JSON literacy with the ability to read schemas and verify parameter usage - Working knowledge of SQL for running simple queries and data validation - Demonstrated experience with prompt engineering or writing structured instructions for AI or automation systems - Proven ability to draft, interpret, and apply operational policies or guidelines - Familiarity with SaaS tool workflows such as Slack, PayPal, or similar platforms - Strong written communication skills with comfort working across multilingual and multi-locale contexts - High awareness of content safety and sensitivity to harmful or policy-violating content - Excellent critical reasoning and attention to detail when handling ambiguous or complex cases Why Join Us Turing offers you the flexibility of a fully remote work environment along with the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects in collaboration with leading large language model companies worldwide. - 3 to 6 years of experience in AI operations, content review, QA, product operations, policy, or technical support - Strong API and JSON literacy including reading schemas and verifying parameter usage - Basic SQL skills for data validation and issue investigation - Experience with prompt engineering or writing structured instructions for AI or automation systems - Proven policy creation and documentation skills - Familiarity with SaaS platforms such as Slack or PayPal - Strong written communication skills with multilingual and multi-locale awareness - High content safety awareness and sensitivity to harmful or policy-violating material - Excellent critical reasoning and attention to detail - Ability to commit at least 4 hours per day with a minimum of 20 hours per week and 4 hours overlap with PST
