AI Prompt and Policy Specialist

Role Overview Turing, a San Francisco-based global leader in frontier AI research acceleration and enterprise AI deployment, is looking for an AI Prompt and Policy Specialist to join its team on a contract basis. In this role, you will work at the crossroads of prompt engineering, policy design, and AI safety to ensure that AI-driven workflows are accurate, compliant, and user-friendly across multiple languages and regions. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and safety teams to refine AI interactions with third-party tools such as Slack, PayPal, and similar platforms. Key Responsibilities - Design, review, and continuously improve prompts and instructions for AI systems that interact with tools, APIs, and external services - Read and interpret API and JSON schemas to ensure correct parameter usage and proper tool behavior - Apply basic SQL knowledge to validate data, investigate issues, and support analysis of AI or tool behavior - Create, document, and maintain policies and guidelines governing AI interactions, content handling, and tool-based workflows - Develop workflow expertise for specific platforms and encode that knowledge into actionable prompts and policies - Ensure safety and compliance by applying content filtering guidelines and identifying unsafe or non-compliant outputs - Evaluate AI responses for reasoning quality, parameter correctness, and policy adherence - Support multilingual use cases by validating prompts and responses across multiple locales with attention to nuance and clarity - Document edge cases, decision rationales, and recommendations using clear and concise written communication Required Qualifications - 3 to 6 years of combined experience in AI operations, content review, quality assurance, product operations, policy, or technical support - Strong API and JSON literacy including the ability to read schemas and verify correct parameter usage - Basic SQL skills to run queries, validate data, and support investigations - Demonstrated experience with prompt engineering or writing structured instructions for AI or automation systems - Proven ability to draft, interpret, and apply operational policies and guidelines - Familiarity with SaaS platform workflows such as Slack or PayPal including typical user actions and edge cases - Strong written communication skills and comfort working across multilingual and multi-locale contexts - High awareness of content safety, harmful content detection, and policy-violating outputs - Excellent critical reasoning, judgment, and attention to detail when evaluating complex or ambiguous cases Why Join Us Turing offers a fully remote, flexible work environment with the exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading large language model companies worldwide.
