AI Architect

Role Overview TVS Next is hiring an experienced AI Architect for a full-time permanent role based out of Guindy, Chennai. This is a senior leadership position that combines deep technical expertise in AI and data architecture with strong client-facing and solution-selling capabilities. The ideal candidate will design enterprise-grade AI systems, lead pre-sales engagements, and drive the adoption of responsible AI practices across large-scale transformation programmes. Key Responsibilities - Design and deliver end-to-end AI and ML systems covering LLMs, GenAI, NLP, and computer vision, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise technology landscapes - Lead RFP and RFI responses, build solution narratives, estimate effort and total cost of ownership, and engage directly with clients during discovery and deal pursuit phases - Own proof-of-concept development to validate technical feasibility before deal closure - Define MLOps standards, model lifecycle policies, bias and fairness frameworks, and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and PDPA - Develop AI-ready data roadmap frameworks that guide organisations from raw data to production-grade ML, GenAI, and LLM systems - Conduct architecture reviews, design authority sessions, and milestone gate reviews for large transformation programmes - Mentor and grow teams of data architects and engineers, establishing career development pathways and a culture of technical excellence - Represent the organisation at industry events, webinars, and conferences, and publish thought leadership content on data and AI strategy - Stay current with emerging tools, platforms, and research, and recommend adoption strategies accordingly Required Qualifications - 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in data engineering, data architecture, and analytics - Proven track record of winning and delivering large-scale Data and AI engagements including RFPs, PoCs, and enterprise transformation programmes - Hands-on expertise with AI and ML platforms such as MLflow, Azure ML, SageMaker, or Vertex AI, and GenAI orchestration tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel - Deep working knowledge of at least two major cloud data platforms including Azure Databricks, ADLS, ADF, Synapse, and Fabric; AWS Glue, S3, Redshift, and EMR; or GCP BigQuery, Dataflow, and Vertex AI - Expert-level proficiency in Apache Spark (PySpark), SQL, Delta Lake, and Apache Iceberg with the ability to write and review production-grade pipeline code - Demonstrated experience presenting to and influencing C-level executives, translating complex technical concepts into clear business language - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline - Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or an equivalent Azure, AWS, or GCP data certification - Experience with DataOps and MLOps practices, including CI/CD for data pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, dbt, or Airflow - Background in manufacturing, financial services, or retail data modernisation is a significant advantage; familiarity with industrial IoT or digital twin architectures is a plus - Prior experience building or contributing to a data or AI practice within a consulting firm, systems integrator, or product company - Published articles, patents, conference presentations, or open-source contributions in the data and AI domain are highly desirable Why Join Us TVS Next offers a vibrant, innovation-driven culture with a hybrid work model, accelerated career paths, continuous learning through Nexversity, and comprehensive family health insurance.
