Summary: The Teacher plays a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional well-being of children affected by cancer, ensuring continuity of learning during and after treatment. Operating within the PEP (Personalized

Education

Plan) framework, this position focuses on delivering individualized, holistic

education

in clinical settings (OPD/IPD) or schoolrooms. The Teacher is responsible for monitoring academic progress, facilitating reintegration into mainstream schools, and fostering strong collaboration with parents, caregivers, and the Social Support Team (SST). By combining pedagogical expertise with compassionate, student-centered care, the Teacher contributes significantly to the long-term academic and social development of vulnerable children.

Responsibilities:

Deliver daily teaching sessions in alignment with the PEP framework across OPD/IPD or schoolroom settings. Monitor and track student attendance, academic progress, and reintegration readiness. Provide tailored academic support and individualized instruction as needed. Design and implement interactive, inclusive, learning experiences that promote holistic development. Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to measure student growth and adjust learning plans accordingly. Maintain consistent communication with parents and caregivers to support academic continuity. Lead sensitization sessions for parents and home school staff on cancer, post-treatment challenges, and educational needs. Assist families in identifying and completing scholarship applications, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. Organize and facilitate regular parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) to review student progress and plan next steps. Follow up with students post-reintegration to monitor their academic and emotional adjustment. Maintain accurate and up-to-date vCAN records for all educational and support interventions. Collaborate with the Social Support Team (SST) to support comprehensive child development. Keep detailed records of attendance, diagnostic assessments (DA), PEP implementation, evaluations, and individual growth. Submit monthly progress reports to the Head Teacher for review and planning. Develop and execute lesson plans aligned with PEP objectives and student needs. Utilize visual and interactive teaching tools to accommodate diverse learning styles. Provide structured remedial support to help students catch up academically. Conduct diagnostic and periodic assessments to inform instructional strategies. Maintain real-time attendance and performance tracking for each student. Coordinate with local schools and stakeholders to support seamless reintegration. Organize awareness workshops for parents and caregivers on child health and education. Respond to organizational needs with additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Child Development, or a related field. Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in remedial, special, or inclusive

settings. Proven

experience

in individualized learning support and student assessment methodologies. Prior

experience

working with children affected by health impairments or learning disabilities is highly preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication

skills

with the ability to engage parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in documentation, record-keeping, and digital reporting systems (e.g., vCAN).
