Job Description

Summary: The Teacher plays a pivotal role in delivering personalized, structured, and holistic

education

to children affected by illness, particularly those recovering from cancer. Operating within outpatient (OPD), inpatient (IPD), or school-based settings, the Teacher ensures continuity of learning through the PEP (Personalized

Education

Plan) framework. This role emphasizes individualized instruction, progress monitoring, and therapeutic education, fostering both academic growth and emotional well-being. The Teacher collaborates closely with parents, caregivers, and the Social Support Team (SST) to support reintegration into mainstream

education

and promote long-term developmental success. With a strong focus on child-centered pedagogy, documentation, and adaptive teaching methodologies, the Teacher contributes significantly to the overall educational and emotional recovery of vulnerable students.

Responsibilities:

Deliver daily teaching sessions in alignment with the PEP framework across OPD, IPD, or school settings. Monitor and track student attendance, academic progress, and reintegration readiness. Provide individualized instruction and remedial support tailored to each child’s learning needs and health status. Design and implement interactive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Conduct diagnostic, periodic, and formative assessments to evaluate learning outcomes and inform instruction. Maintain consistent communication with parents and caregivers to ensure academic continuity and support. Organize and facilitate regular parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) to review student progress and address concerns. Sensitize parents and reintegrated home school staff on the impact of cancer and post-treatment challenges. Assist families in identifying and completing scholarship applications, ensuring all required documentation is collected. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in vCAN and other systems, including attendance, assessments, PEP execution, and growth tracking. Coordinate with the Social Support Team (SST) to support holistic child development. Submit monthly progress reports to the Project Head, Principal, or Head Teacher. Follow up with students post-reintegration to monitor ongoing academic engagement and well-being. Participate in awareness sessions and workshops to build community understanding of children’s educational needs. Collaborate with local schools to facilitate successful reintegration of students into mainstream education.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Child Development, or a closely related field. Minimum 1–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in remedial, special, or inclusive

education

settings. Proven

experience

in individualized learning support and student assessment methodologies. Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate children with health impairments or learning disabilities. Strong child-centric approach with expertise in interactive and visual learning techniques. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coordination

skills

for working with families and multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and tracking student progress using digital or manual systems. Familiarity with digital learning tools and online tutoring platforms is an advantage. Additional Duties: This
