Job Description

Do work that matters.

At AlertMedia,

we help organizations protect their people, operations, and brand. Our modern

Risk Intelligence and Response

platform empowers teams to detect emerging threats, assess impact, and respond with confidence. We believe building resilience should be simpler—and it starts with bringing critical information and workflows together in unified platform.

  • Our core values drive us in our important mission of keeping people safe & informed:

  • We’re humans not robots

  • Customers always come first

  • We work better together

  • Simplicity is our strength

  • Our reputation is priceless

  • Hard work pays off

As of the fastest growing SaaS start-up companies in the nation, we’re focused on finding the best talent and building the best team to continue accelerating our rapid growth to keep up with our demand.

AlertMedia is looking for a

Senior Product Manager

to lead the strategy and development of new AI capabilities that help organizations coordinate complex critical-event response workflows. This person will take the product from zero to—turning customer needs into trusted automation and partnering with Engineering and Design to rapidly prototype, ship, and scale new solutions.

  • Who you are:

You have built products that turn scattered, manual work into something coordinated and dependable. You have watched capable people stitch together tools, tabs, and checklists by hand to get through a high-stakes process — and you have felt the pull to replace that friction with software that simply does the right next thing. You know the difference between automation that earns trust and automation that gets in the way.

Now you want to do that at scale, for thousands of teams, on a product being built from the ground up. You are curious about how customers actually work rather than how they say they work, comfortable making decisions with imperfect data, and energized by taking a blank page and shipping something real. You are as interested in the operator’s daily reality as you are in the roadmap that serves it.

When a critical event unfolds, the hard part is rarely knowing that something happened — it is coordinating the many steps, people, and systems that have to move in the right order, quickly, and often all at. AlertMedia is transforming how organizations turn response into action, and you will own how we build it.

  • What you get to do every day:

Customer and Market Understanding

  • Develop deep expertise in the personas we serve — security, safety, business continuity, IT, and operations leaders, and the responders who execute when something goes wrong — including how their work is structured, staffed, measured, and escalated.

  • Interview customers and prospects continuously. Run discovery conversations, workflow walk-throughs, and feedback sessions that produce specific problem statements rather than feature requests.

  • Maintain a clear, current view of the problems we solve well today, the opportunities to solve problems better, and the problems we should be solving 12 to 24 months from now.

  • Track industry trends, the automation and AI landscape, platform and integration changes, and the competitive field, and translate them into implications for our roadmap.

Strategy, Prioritization, and Roadmap Ownership

  • Own the roadmap for new AI capabilities: decide what we build, what we defer, and what we decline, with reasoning that stands up to scrutiny.

  • Shape the strategy and positioning for a product that is still being defined and build the case for where it should go next.

  • Balance business objectives, customer needs, and industry trends when sequencing work, and make the tradeoffs explicit to stakeholders.

  • Define the problem sets and jobs to be done that anchor each initiative, so the team understands the outcome before it debates the solution.

Working With Development and Design

  • Partner with Engineering and Design to translate customer problems into specifications, acceptance criteria, and deliverable milestones the team can execute against.

  • Break large initiatives into releasable increments that produce customer value early and inform what comes next.

  • Stay close through delivery — grooming, scope decisions, testing, and launch readiness — and resolve ambiguity before it becomes rework.

Prototyping With AI Tooling

  • Use AI development and design tools such as Claude Code, Claude Design, and Codex to build working prototypes, pressure-test concepts, and put something tangible in front of customers in days rather than quarters.

  • Treat prototypes as a research method: use them to invalidate weak ideas inexpensively and to sharpen strong before Engineering commits.

  • Bring that fluency to the wider product team and raise the bar for how quickly we can move from idea to evidence.

Measurement

  • Define what success looks like before launch — adoption, time saved, workflow completion, reliability, retention impact, revenue contribution — and instrument for it.

  • Analyze product usage data and customer outcomes after release, report honestly on what worked and what did not, and feed those findings into the next round of prioritization.

Go-To-Market Enablement

  • Work with Product Marketing to position new capabilities, shape messaging, and equip Sales, Customer Success, and Support to sell and support them with confidence.

  • Translate product functionality into narratives and practical applications that customer-facing teams can use in real conversations.

  • Lead internal training, demos, and Q&A sessions so the organization understands not just what shipped but why it matters to the people who use it.

  • What you bring to the role:

  • 4+ years of product management experience, including owning a product or major product area end to end — discovery, delivery, and measurement.

  • Experience taking a product or major capability from zero to: defining the problem, shaping the concept, and shipping the first versions into customers’ hands.

  • Prior experience working on agentic and/or AI-native products — workflow automation, process orchestration, integration platforms, agentic tooling, or similar.

  • A working understanding of how AI and LLM-based capabilities are designed into products, including where they add leverage and where they need guardrails.

  • A systems mindset — you naturally think in terms of workflows, dependencies, triggers, and how the pieces of a process fit together.

  • Strong analytical judgment and comfort making decisions from incomplete or conflicting information.

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to hold a technical conversation with Engineering and a strategic with an executive on the same day.

  • Comfort with tools like Jira, Confluence, and product analytics software.

  • A collaborative, no-ego approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

  • Resourcefulness — you keep going when the path is not clear.

  • Energetic, empathetic, and earnest, with a consistent record of delivering quality work on schedule.

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery, APIs, system integrations, and data pipelines.

  • Experience in critical event management, emergency communication, security, safety, or business continuity — or with the teams that run them.

  • Experience with product enablement or go-to-market support.

Location:

_ Strong preference for Austin, TX candidates, but open to remote US based candidates. Please note that we currently do not hire candidates residing in the following states: Alaska, California, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming._

Sponsorship:

_ This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have existing authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future_.

  • Why this role matters:

Our customers rely on us to help them keep their people safe and their business running. When we get it right, a response that used to take a dozen manual steps and several anxious people happens quickly and correctly — and a team gets to focus on the situation instead of the software.

We are looking for someone who wants to build on that and make it possible for many more teams to respond well under pressure. If that is the mission you want to spend your time on, we would like to talk with you.

  • Why you’ll love working at AlertMedia:

At AlertMedia, you won’t just build your career — you’ll be part of something meaningful, surrounded by people who genuinely care about the work and each other.

  • Competitive base salary + Variable Compensation + Company-wide bonus program

  • Generous and flexible time off and parental leave policies

  • Health benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance are 100% paid for employees!

  • 401K with generous company match

  • Amazing rewards and incentives – we love celebrating each other!

  • Commitment to community service with opportunities to give back

  • A Best Places to Work company 10 years in a row and numerous other awards

  • Access to new downtown office with 360 views of Austin, high-tech building gym and nearby running trails

  • Ongoing career development opportunities through our Learning & Development team

  • You'll do meaningful work—while growing your career in a fast-moving, global company with an award-winning culture
