Job Description

About the Role

Cyient DLM is seeking an experienced Aerospace Process Engineer to develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes for aerospace components, sub-assemblies, and systems. The role is responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes consistently meet stringent aerospace

requirements

for safety, quality, reliability, regulatory compliance, cost, and delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with New Product Development (NPD), Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and Maintenance teams to support the complete product lifecycle—from New Product Introduction (NPI) through production ramp-up and sustainment.

Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering & Industrialization Develop, implement, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing and assembly processes for aerospace components and assemblies. Define manufacturing methods, process sequences, tooling requirements, and work instructions for new and existing products. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from design transfer through production readiness. Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency. Drive process standardization and best manufacturing practices across production operations. Engineering Documentation & APQP Prepare and maintain APQP documentation, including: Balloon Drawings Process Flow Diagrams Stage Drawings Control Plans Process FMEA (PFMEA) Work Instructions Develop manufacturing documentation aligned with customer and aerospace quality requirements. Ensure engineering documentation is accurate, controlled, and revision compliant. Drawing Interpretation & Technical Support Interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and technical requirements, ensuring effective deployment to the shop floor. Apply GD&T principles to validate manufacturability, inspection requirements, and process capability. Identify drawing discrepancies, missing information, and manufacturability risks, coordinating with design teams for timely resolution. Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during product realization and process implementation. Configuration & Change Management Manage engineering changes through Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and revision control. Ensure proper configuration management throughout the product lifecycle. Coordinate implementation of engineering changes across manufacturing, quality, and supply chain functions. Manufacturing Systems & ERP Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), process routings, and manufacturing masters in SAP. Ensure ERP data accurately reflects engineering changes and manufacturing process updates. Support digital manufacturing initiatives through effective ERP utilization. Tooling & Fixture Development Participate in the design and validation of manufacturing fixtures, assembly tools, and inspection aids. Collaborate with tooling teams to improve manufacturing accuracy, repeatability, and productivity. Support fixture qualification and process validation activities. Aerospace Quality & Compliance Ensure manufacturing processes comply with aerospace quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits. Collaborate with Quality teams on First Article Inspection (FAI), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality management systems and applicable aerospace standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with New Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Production, Maintenance, and Customer teams. Support manufacturing readiness reviews, process qualification, and production ramp-up activities. Coordinate with customers through customer portals for engineering submissions, documentation, and technical clarifications. Mandatory

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

4–8 years of

experience

in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrialization within the Aerospace, Defence, Precision Manufacturing, or High-Reliability EMS industry.

Experience

in machining and assembly manufacturing environments is essential. Technical

Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications. Excellent knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
