Job Description
Collective Newsroom is seeking a professional to support and manage the technology platforms that power digital content creation, video production, publishing, live streaming, social media distribution, and workflow automation. The role is a shift-based and responsible for ensuring platform reliability, operational excellence and continuous innovation across all digital media operations. It has more than 250 journalists and operational staff, bringing you distinctive, impartial and world-class content and is the BBC’s sole provider of content for its Indian language websites and social media platforms including English. We provide digital, audio and television content in Bangla, Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Telugu, Urdu as well as English. Video Production & Media Technology Manage and support digital media production workflows including NRCS. Support live streaming and digital video delivery technologies. Support cloud-based media platforms and storage solutions. Assist in platform monitoring, capacity planning, and service optimization. Support backup and disaster recovery processes. Digital Media Platforms Manage and optimize digital publishing platforms and content management systems (CMS). Support content distribution workflows across websites and digital channels. Collaborate with editorial and content teams to improve digital publishing processes. Participate in platform enhancements, integrations, and technology innovation initiatives. Support technologies used for content publishing and distribution across: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, OTT and streaming platforms. Monitor platform performance and recommend improvements. Support social media analytics and audience engagement technologies. AI, Automation & Innovation Support implementation of AI-powered tools and automation platforms. Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation and technology innovation. Develop dashboards and reporting solutions to support business operations and decision-making. Evaluate emerging technologies relevant to digital media operations. Participate in technology modernization and cloud transformation initiatives. Security & Governance Support digital content security, governance, and compliance initiatives.
