About the Role

We are looking for an

AI Engineer II

to design, build, and deploy cutting-edge

generative AI applications

, including

agentic workflows and intelligent chat experiences

, that transform how employees interact with their benefits.

This role goes beyond individual contribution—you will

own complex AI features end-to-end

, influence

architecture decisions around LLMs and agent systems

, and

mentor junior engineers

. You will play a key role in bringing

secure, scalable, and high-performance AI solutions to production

using AWS cloud technologies.

You will collaborate closely with

software engineers, architects, product managers, and cross-functional teams

to deliver seamless and impactful user experiences

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Design & Development

• Lead the design and development of

scalable, secure, and high-performance applications

.

• Architect robust backend systems and integrate them with frontend applications and third-party services.
• Drive technical decisions and participate in design reviews alongside senior engineers and architects.
• Build

generative AI-powered applications

, including:

• Agentic workflows (multi-step AI agents using tools)
• Intelligent chat interfaces for employee benefits guidance

2. System Decomposition & Iterative Delivery

• Break down complex systems into

manageable components and deliverables

.

• Lead

prototyping efforts

to validate assumptions and reduce risk.

• Own technical scoping and execution planning for features.

3. Product Ownership & Lifecycle Management

• Take end-to-end ownership from

prototype to production and operations

.

• Ensure systems are

reliable, scalable, maintainable, and performant

.

• Identify and proactively resolve

technical debt

.

4. Observability & Reliability

• Implement

logging, monitoring, and tracing

across services.

• Define and maintain

SLOs/SLAs

for critical systems.

• Ensure real-time visibility to detect anomalies and ensure system health.

5. Deployment & Release Management

• Build and maintain

CI/CD pipelines

using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).

• Ensure

automated and reliable deployments

.

• Promote best practices for deployment and release processes.

6. Code Quality, Testing & Performance

• Write clean, modular, and well-documented code.
• Lead code reviews and establish quality standards.
• Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Optimize APIs and backend systems for

performance and scalability

.

7. Cloud & Security

• Design and deploy applications on

AWS cloud

, including:

S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, EventBridge

• Ensure

secure handling of sensitive data

.

• Support

security reviews, compliance audits

, and mitigation efforts.

8. Generative AI & Agentic Systems

• Build

agentic AI workflows

enabling autonomous multi-step task execution.

• Develop

LLM-powered chat systems

with contextual and intelligent interactions.

• Implement core AI capabilities:

  • Prompt engineering
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Tool/function calling
  • Memory management
  • Agent orchestration

• Evaluate and leverage frameworks like:

  • LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, Amazon Bedrock Agents

• Partner with product and data teams to drive

automation and personalization

through AI.

9. Mentorship & Collaboration

• Mentor junior engineers and interns, supporting technical and career growth.
• Foster a culture of

knowledge sharing and engineering excellence

.

• Participate in hiring and technical interviews.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

4–8 years

of experience in software development or AI engineering

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with

AWS services

(mandatory):

• DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge, S3

• Proficiency in:

C# / Java, Node.js, TypeScript

Python

(preferred for AI/ML integrations)

• Solid understanding of:

  • OOP principles, design patterns
  • Microservices & event-driven architectures
  • RESTful APIs and distributed systems

• Experience with:

  • SQL & NoSQL databases
  • CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)
  • Development tools (Jira, GitHub, SonarQube)

AI & Generative AI Expertise

• Hands-on experience in:

  • LLM integrations
  • Prompt engineering
  • RAG pipelines
  • Tool/function calling

• Experience building:

Agentic workflows or AI-powered chat systems

(highly preferred)

• Familiarity with

Amazon Bedrock or similar AI/ML platforms

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving and system design capabilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to independently own and deliver complex solutions
• Experience working in Agile environments
